Hi! This is great, now I would appreciate if you could add some settings to the material preview rendering (quality, Open CL), next thing I would like to see is to bring in feature support in line with standalone renderer (looking at denoising). Thanks!

The progressive materials previews are a little bit experimental and don't work very well with ActiveShade (I hope I'll be able to improve this).

Regarding material preview quality, what kind of "quality" are you talking about? Samples per pixel?

Denoising will be added also, all in it's time. :)

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I meant samples per pixel. I also think material preview should use currently selected render mode (Path tracking/bidir etc, and also Open CL if selected) This would help with designing materials. As an example in my workflow, OpenCL is the only way forward due to performance, but not all material features are available in this mode and it would be great if the preview reflected this.

Also, sometimes, material preview turns grey and only solution to this seems to be 3d max restart.

Since I am already here... there is a very useful function in 3d max, if you select an object (or several) and go to properties, there is a parameter called "visibility", it can hide the object and is animated. It is very handy, but it does not work with Indigo... object with "0" visibility is still visible when rendering in indigo. I know I can hide things manually, but it makes the workflow extra painful when working with multiple objects in animation ;) I would highly appreciate even a basic implementation of this feature!

Also, there is/used to be max material called shadow/mate this captured shadows, but not alpha channel, so one could have png with transparent background and rendered shadows

Regarding this, the preview renderers are kept alive for 30 seconds after the material was last update and the render completes (possibly also due to an error, I ran into this issue a couple of times). So eventually, it *should* recover, maybe no need to restart max.

But I'll also be looking into this.

It happens quite often, especially when enabling, disabling and replacing texture maps on the material

Did someone say a new version IndigoMax?

Thanks a million.
I was starting to think Max was going to be abandoned.
