3ds Max for Lighting Calculations?

Post by Ohontlle » Tue Aug 20, 2019 8:37 pm

I have a few general question about the abilities of 3ds Max in regards to lighting.

Can it be used from the perspective of a lighting designer to do renderings and point by point foot candle calculations?

I work for an MEP design firm who does some pretty lighting intensive rooms and projects. Currently we use AGI32 for the majority of our lighting calculations. However, for various reasons we are looking into 3ds Max as potentially helping with these tasks.

What features does 3ds Max have that could be beneficial to architectural lighting calculations and rendering? Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!
