Indigo Crashing when trying to render own scene

Post by gu3st » Thu Mar 08, 2007 5:34 pm

Well, I can have indigo render the scenes that come with it, but when I export scenes from 3dsmax, Indigo crashes.

Any Help?

What's the error message that it's giving?

...and what versions of Indigo and Max exporter you are using?

It gives a standard XP "Indigo has encountered an error and had to close". I'm using Indigo 0.6, 3dsmax 8, and Max2Indigo 616.

If the dump that it gives off would be helpful (To developers), I can get that also.

2 most common reasons for crash:

You must have at least one light source in your scene (either mesh light or sun light).

If using sun (direct light or sun system), then be sure that the sky is enabled on exporter dialog too.

I am using a light source in my scene.

What's in your scene then?
Can you render a simple plane + sphere + sun?

You are not very generous with info

All I have in my scene is a simple box created with inward facing planes, a prism with Indigo Glass on it, and a lightsource.

Well..have you tried to render anything else? Does this happen in every scene or only with this one?

I'm going to attempt a simple scene as you said right now, and edit this post with my results.

Edit: it must be something with my scene, becuase I did a simple plane+sphere scene and it's working perfectly. I'll check out my scene and do some bug fixing

Edit2: Figured out that it was the target spot doing the malice.

Thanks guys :)
