IndigoMax 0.4.0

Post by subpixel » Wed Dec 17, 2014 10:31 pm

Hello all,

Here's a new version of IndigoMax, it brings a lot of changes in how it operates internally for interactive purposes. However it also allows a much easier implementation of new features.

Changes:
  • Done: Rewritten renderer architecture to support ActiveShade mode
  • Added: Log window for Indigo messages
  • Added: Initial version of Indigo light object
  • Added: Initial support for Particle Flow systems
  • Done: Implemented new features to Indigo specular material (arch glass, single face)
  • Done: Updated to IndigoSDK 3.8.22
Download:
IndigoMax 0.4.0
IndigoMax RT 0.4.0

Notes:
Versions: max2011 / 2012 / 2013 / 2014 / 2015 64bit.

Hope for some comments, suggestions and descriptive bug reports. Please post them in this thread or send PM.

Cheers,
Jake

Super! thanks you!

Before installing that version, can you say if it's fully usuable to the Indigo 3.8.23 installed onto RanchComputing?

Is that compatible with a scene created with 0.3.12?

Cheers,
Jay

Hello,

thanks for update.

First problem is... Max's crash... when material editor is started...

Max 2015, IndigoMax 0.4.0 (not RT)

Yes, it should render fine
Jay-ko wrote:Is that compatible with a scene created with 0.3.12?
Yes, there was a change in how multi materials are handled, but it should render fine with Indigo 3.8+

Thanks for report, will fix it. I assume you're using slate editor, right? Does it happen for compact editor, as well?

The problem occurs in both versions of material editor. In max2014 too.

Notice that the slate material editor is VERY (very) valuable for materials development for Indigo Renderer.

As a 3ds max user (I am from the old school) I assure that if you test it, you never come back to the standard one!

After installation of IndigoMax 0.4.0 during first launching of 3dsmax we see that:

Unfortunately, I cannot replicate crash on my side in both slate and compact on max2015 and 2014. Does it happen for anyone else? What are your reproduction steps? Did you render anything with Indigo main session (like some scene) before going to material editor?
Do you have any 3rd party texmaps installed?
Hope we'll be able to get to the bottom of it.

I am not claiming otherwise. It was just a question for debugging purposes.
Thanks for feedback.

I believe this should help: http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/3ds-max
In a nutshell they suggest using latest service pack. Did you try this?

Just wanted to report that i have the exact same problem.

Max 2015, IndigoMax 0.4.0
Whenever i try opening the material editor Max Crashes.
Updated Max to the latest Service Pack 3, but the issue still persists.

Both Slate and Compact cause the program to crash.

Hello MrBlack,

Thank you for feedback. Still I am not able to replicate this on my machine, so I am guessing it might be some 3rd party plugins related. Nonetheless I am looking into ways to solve this.
Thanks,

Just to add on for debugs sake.
Im using the student version of Max and my friend uses the full licence, he got no issues.

The other difference between our setups is mine is none-hyperthreading, his is.

I dont know if the student version of max would cause a problem, but would hyperthreading??

All prior versions of IndigoMax worked for me even before i got back to school and started using the student version of Max.......but ive always been on none-hyperthreading.
