Enviornment HDR

Post by padfoot7726 » Sun Aug 09, 2009 12:12 pm

How can I use an enviornment HDR from Blendigo?
It implies that I need an EXR file. What is that? I have several nice HDR files, in spherical format.
Where can I get exr files? Can I convert my hdr files to them somehow?

IIRC http://www.hdrshop.com/ will do it but I haven't fiddled with it in a long while.

blender reads both formats, just load hdr in blender and save as exr, thats all the magic

Thanks. Managed to convert it in Blender.

But, now when I try rendering using the exr file, it ends up being an odd, dark, rainbow of noise. This can't be normal for environment map renders, can it?
