for anyone who is interested i foudn this link, the ONLY 1, unfortunatly it isnt sse3 compatable but is is 64 bit optimized so should get a nice performance boost.

i am still on the hunt for an sse3 compatible version, perhaps a later 1.

thanks

mat

I was under the impression that x64 releases for windows were not working for some reason; Ton had requested help from a volunteer to "port" it to x64 windows.

That may be fixed now, in which case, I don't know. :P

As far as I know/knew, 64bit for Windows isn't that a big speed up but quite unsafe for some reason...

64 bit for windows shouldnt be such a big speed up, but sse2/3/whatever is, cuz ive tried it. maybe 20% increase, but thats more than what we got for porting indigo to x64 (?) (correct me if im wrong)

Indigo's speed up by 64bit is ~5%...

the speed up by sse1 is very much (in sum, I'd say ~70% or something like that)

but I can't really say: I didn't see any version, that did NOT have SSE...

and before extending the SSE to what we have now, Indigo already hat tons of better algos and fixed speedbugs, so it would be very hard to tell exactly...

(Did Indigo ever have NO SSE?)

lol, kram: i wasnt implying we should try for an sse2/3 speedup, just saying that in my experience, sse2/3 wasnt a big speedup in blender.

ah, I see^^

there a different SSE 2 + 3 builds at graphicall... they work differently efficient.

The best, I found, was 34% if I remember correctly...
