Post by jansan » Thu May 31, 2007 4:27 am

I am trying to obtain a material that sees as transparent paper like the cellophane without obtaining it, I need a help, the problem is that it does not let see what this back partially as is seen in fact

With partially do you mean like blurring? i think i would be done with a glossy material, try with it, that's how i'd do it.

In the packages of rolls, hygienic paper. Part of the envelope lets see the paper, and starts off reflects the light is and the effect that desire

oh yesss, i think that what you're tying to do is something like this(see attachment)

i dont know if you use blendigo as i do, but well, if not, i can only help you with the technique, hehehe, look, it's a blend material, where 2 materials "blend" (hehehe) and you give it a blend map, my blend map it's two colored; black and white, i think this is the only way it works. look, i attach my images of how my material was made, by the way, this scene is finished!!! it's now rendering, cheers!

Tk Daniel

Can't you stay at ONE post, to translate spanish to english or reversed?

If I understand you correctly, you want to convert blender Materials to Blendigo?

No, with Blendigo I do not have problems. he is excellent, which I want is to obtain the effect that has the paper that surrounds the bano papers, of transparency and reflections, By but that I wrinkle mesh not it profit

you want to make the bath paper be surounded of a plastic hull, instead of a blend, between them?

If so, you have to modell it...

Maybe like this:

1) modell the hull, fillled with the papers.
2) [Ctrl-D] to dublicate the hull.
In Edit Mode, press Alt+S, to shrink the new mesh a slight bit. Make the material "Air" like (IoR 1, absorbtion / SSS 0 0 0)

looks like overlapping...

Make the inner mesh even a tiny bit smaller...
(at least, where this effect caused)

or you also can try to do the reversed:
make the copied mesh a tiny bit bigger.
That should get rid of any overlaps.

Make shure, you definately do "Shrink/Fatten" [Alt+S] and not "Scale".
