If there is no lightsource (sun, meshlight) in the scene or the light is pointing in the wrong direction (e.g. if the normals of a meshlight point in the wrong direction and don't hit anything in the scene) the image will render completely white because of the tonemapping.
If you load such an IGI into Violet you'll see it's actually completely black.

any fix for this
Just installed Blender 2.44, indigo 0.8 and the exporter and I get the same problem. I just tried the example in the tutorial and get nothing but a white screen.
I tried to export a .blend file that worked fine with blender 2.43, Indigo 0.7 and associated exporter and it gives the same results.
"fiddling with the tonemapping" hasn't helped. I have and it doesn't make a difference. It's still white.
The preview button in my exporter doesn't appear to do anything. (v0.812 Beta 1d.) The error message in the console reports that it can't find the file "c:\indigo\previews\IMPsphere.xml"

Hey guys!
I had the same problem - even if I export just the Blender-Default-Scene, it renders a full white image.
I found out that your exporter have a problem with exporting the lights.
It creates just one <background> light with RGB 000.
If I remove it and add a <skylight> manually, it works!
Check your exporter, zuegs

Check your scene Paratron
If you have a background light that is black (which is default) then it will be exported as <rgb>0 0 0</rgb> no matter what and it will leave you with a blank render.
Instead, you should rather use the 'NONE' option in the Environment section and then set up your own mesh emitters...

hi ppls
i will be in vacations for a week without indigo and without internet
I will continue to invent the XML material interface (needed for *.igm material file in-/export) meanwhile in my brain and will come back with a first beta in a week or two
So please stay tuned and keep the great cummunity support alive
cu soon, zuegs
