Help please ?

Post by *kez* » Wed Jul 04, 2012 1:45 pm

Hi,

First of all i'm french, so sorry for my bad english.

I need your assistance : I've recently buy a new graphic card ( HD7870 AMD ) to increase the performance of Indigo. The problem is that i can't select anymore my graphic card in my render settings. I explain : with my last graphic card ( AMD HD5570 ) i could select "redwood" (wich was the code name for AMD HD5570 ) OR my CPU, but now i can't just select my CPU ( i7 processor 860 )

So i have a new graphic card but Indigo has never been so slow... :x

I precise my graphic card is completely recognised by Windows.

Did you know what could be the problem ?

Thank you for your help !

You need to make sure that you have the very latest drivers installed for your graphics card. What sometimes comes with the card on CD or DVD is likely outdated.

Since Indigo started with GPU support In the vast majority of cases like this outdated drivers are the number one problem.

Cool. Should be blazing fast now ;-)

Please remember that currently Simple Pathtracing is the only render mode supported by the GPU. If you render interior scenes lit by sunlight entering through windows then Bidirectional Pathtracing may work better.
