New documentation PDF with command line reference

Post by OnoSendai » Sat Dec 16, 2006 7:53 pm

I changed the reference manual page (in the documentation menu) to point to this:

http://www.indigorenderer.com/montecarl ... Manual.pdf

There are some images I put in it, but apart from that, there is some documentation on the command line arguments that Indigo takes.

Thanks for the improved manual!

I noticed on page 10 that aperture_radius is explained:
Defines the radius of the camera aperture. Larger aperture means more depth of field.

I do believe that is the opposite of the behavior of a real camera. A smaller radius (although associated with higher number in terms of f/stop) produces greater depth of field.

Does a larger aperture_radius value result in more depth of field?

Just wondering.

Ah, that's me being sloppy with my terminology.
You are correct, a smaller aperture radius produces greater depth of field.
What i meant was that a larger aperture radius results in a more pronounced out-of-focal plane blurring effect.

Will this manual be bundled with the Indigo download for new users to have a look at?

Thanks for your offer Filippo!
It would be good if you just translated the top two sections - the overview, and the command reference.
The scene XML reference section is still a work in progress.
