yup vignetting. My initial impression was that the angle used was very tight due to the observed alignement, tho the backplate can be fitted to the perspective distortion.

If there exists an original shot I suppose that the camera was at a good distance (6m or more ?).
obsolete asset

In my case I had it at roughly 4 meters...

Here how I did it (the glass is 20cm tall). That red thing is an emitter :mrgreen:

wow! you guys are fast, and very skilled :shock:

imho one of these beautiful scenes should be included with the indigo package, perhaps using the same glass oleg modelled (to economise on file size).

once again, great work!

Interesting to see there is a difference just under the top surface of the liquid. Maybe there's an issue with my total internal reflection code.

I'm having some major issues with this glass. :(

The water material is clear water from DB

EDIT: The tabulated SSS seems to be the culprit here.
My next question has to be on why on such a sunny day does this glass gets its black reflections.

Normally shots like these are done in a studio and the background is a sheet of white perspex. A light source, like a spotlight, is then shone on it from behind, or underneath depending on the effect. This gives a nice soft lightsource.

If this is a real photo I would suspect that that is how the background/lighting was done. To get the sharpish black edges to it they would just tape black card on each side at the back of the perspex.

Just a thought for those of you trying to replicate it :D

@pixie

What did you change between the last repro and the one before? I'm wondering because the glass
and the liquid seems to be totally wrong. :?

Hey, Pixie, I had the same issue and it was about precedence. Did you check? :wink:
