Download fo Macs Question

Post by Limey » Sun Apr 26, 2009 5:19 am

I would like to download Indigo for use with my SketchUp program...
I have a Mac Pro. The downloads show windows version which I obviously don't need and Linux versions either 32 bit or 64 bit.
Please excuse my ignorance but can I assume that I will be able to use the Linux version on my Mac and if so what "bit" number should I choose.....?
I am not familiar with the intricacies of working with Linux and if there is anything else I should know about the basics of using it could someone kindly point them out.
Thanks
Limey

Hiya Limey,

We have a mac version of Indigo available - it'll be available for public use in about one week. :)

And is there a blendigo for Mac somewhere ?

The only download available is for Windows ( a .exe file...) and i can't seem to locate anywhere on the forum a place where i can find the exporter for blender . :(

Otherwise the Mac Indigo is working like a charm (from example scenes...) and i like the GUI, simple slick and efficent, exactly how i like my Mac apps ! :)

Thanks,
laurent.

I made this package about a month ago - I don't know if it works - but give it a go.

I'll be updating it to the newest blendigo soon.

OK, too bad the installer tells me that it doesn't find a .blender in my home directory ( and it's there naturally...) :?

So i have managed to grab "blendigo.py" out of the package, but now the script tells me that it doesnt' find IndigoWrapper.conf in .blender/bpydata/ which i couldn't copy from the installer package because i didn't find it... :(

Well, i have even copied my entire scripts folder into the .blender/ folder of my home directory, but still no success.
Do you have to have blender and its scripts folder in a specific location for the installer to find it or is it just due to some "bug" in it ?

Thanks for any reply,
laurent.

I think the blender version there is busted. I'll rewrite the package and put the latest blendigo into it. It may take a day or so. You can always get the latest blendigo from here..

Thanks, i'll test that also. :)

In the meantime, i'm not sure the most important missing thing to run Indigo from blender exporter is the blendigo.py file for now, but probably more that IndigoWrapper.conf it has been asking for and that i've not been able to find in the installer for Mac OS X... :?

Anyway, waiting 1 or 2 days to get an updated exporter installer is not a big deal, i can easily live with that ! :D

Thanks for all your hard work and for the fast replies guys, much appreciated.

Cheers,
laurent.

OK, the new blendigo.py file seems to make it for now, although it doesn't allow me to preview my material, which is a bit weird... :?

At least it allows me to render, and that's the most important thing for now ! :D :D

I'll test that beast extensively in the upcoming days and try to make a decision on a purchase of the solution, a lifetime upgrade is very temting to say the least.

And again thanks for the fast replies, especially when they come with a solution. ;)

Cheers,
laurent.
