Transparents nk

Is it a impossibility or are they planned to be supported in the future?

-> tabulated spectrum
Though, you need to find the data first. And that's not so simple... Google a lot and you still can't be sure to find what you search, especially on a free and open place.

Why? have you made custom nk data? have you tried to blend a translucent material with a phong nk one?
Indigo 1.1.11 32bit + Blendigo 1.1.7
My render supercomputer:
  • Acer aspire 5612Zwlmi
  • Intel T2060 dual core 1.6 GHz
  • 1GB RAM
  • vista home premium 32bit

Bogey Jammer, that's just not a correct approach. refraction, absorption and dispersion wont be correct that way.

Yesindeed! That's the most famous example, by CCJ :) (And I think, sofar also the only one, except the huge gallery of glasses by WytRaven...)

Thank you, both of you!!!

Nope, those are all solid. The data isn't capable for transparency ;)
If you'd make all the transparency black, those opaque nks are how they'd look like ;)

In nk materials resource there's a render of all those nk and showed that some didn't render and amongst those came the transparent ones...

Nope, the transparent ones "didn't render as expected"
Those, which didn't render at all, have a different format, if you look into the said files. (Simply open with notepad or any other text editor... Though, you shouldn't use words or such. ;) )
