IGS Navigator

Post by Onfame » Sun Aug 24, 2008 4:55 am

Hi everyone, i wrote a little tool which helps one to navigate quickly through an IGS-File and edit it. Please report bugs etc. and tell me if you find it useful

Thx

Onfame

Edit:

0.3:

- changed the tab order
- window is now sizeable
- you can send files to indigo now
- improved code/performance a little bit
- materials are now found correctly

0.2.1
- Don´t crashes when File\Quit
- Tabs work now correctly

Well, I managed to crash it (looks like german error text that says cannot access memory at address) by choosing File->Quit

When I opened an IGS, it took a while to update the window - in the mean time, it looks like it froze - perhaps you can add a progress bar?

The window doesn't seem to respect its size such that even when maximized there is a scroll bar horizontally.

When the IGS loaded, the materials tab worked as I guessed it would, however when i chose one of the other tabs, I just got "load a file first" - the file is already loaded. Then when I clicked back on Materials, which had worked, it said the same thing :)

Being able to get to the good parts of the igs is a useful idea, I look forward to where you go with this. What is your programming environment?

Hmm i don't know whats the problem with the window is on my laptop all looks fine, can you post a screenshot?

Hmm, I don't know why but ... I tried to load an IGS and it wasn't done after 3 min...so i closed it (wasnt responding).

Oh and being able to see all the tabs would be fun
And it doesnt quite scale correctly

First of all: great program!
However, I found another bug.
Create 2 mats, name one mat and the other one mat_2, place mat_2 before mat in the igs.
Now open the igs in IGS Navigator and select mat.
The tag for the material mat_2 instead of mat is selected then.

hey onfame!

guess you could just export a 300.000+ poly mesh from cindigo and load the igs file of that mesh.

nice tool!
