IOR Reference

Post by pixie » Tue Feb 12, 2008 10:34 am

http://www.ps.missouri.edu/rickspage/re ... ction.html

This got to be the most complete reference I'd found on the subject as it covers not only transparent mediums...

I hope it is of some use, to you and to the Indigo Knowledge Base :D

Thanx mate! Good resource unfortunately I've got the feeling that it
will be gone in a few days. So it would be very kind if someone with
Wiki experience could copy/paste this into the Indigo Wiki. 8) ;)

*LOOOL*

There's a misunderstanding Doug! I meant the link on this forum,
or better the thread will be buried in a few days and for new guys
it is easier to find stuff like that in the Wiki or in a sticky thread.

Hope this clears up my statement ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glass

Also has a nice set of IOR, and also dispersion. How do one convert this values to Indigo?

Directly, I guess..

10^4×(nF-nC) ->
You need to multiply the dispersion by 0.0001 ;)

But what do we have the huge schott library for? :P

yeah, true^^
Though, it's not that accurate. Would be cool to have all those as tabulated spectral materials :)

I see Why I couldn't get the result right, I was multiplying by 0.0001 instead of 0000.1... :P

0.1? Doesn't make sense, when it's 10^4 ....
