Most up to date Indigo Exporter?
I have a large animation project in Maya that I would like to render with Indigo 4 GPU. As we all know the Maya exporters are not being updated and have fallen quite far behind. I was hoping to alembic everything out to another software package to handle the indigo exporting. Which package has the most support for indigo (specifically 4)?

The c4d exporter by far: http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=10

What software would you recommend to learn, 3ds max or Cinema 4D?
Mainly from an ease of use perspective and support for indigo?
Main use would probably be product shots / architectural scenes
Thanks in advance

Just as I said, the c4d exporter is the feature richest and most bugfree exporter.
Its in development since years by the same guy (fused) from the dev team.
The 3D Max exporter is on development halt atm, but I should get some progress soon.
Anyway it will take quite some time until it gets as polished and "project proof", so you can work with it...

Thanks for the info. I guess I will have to start learning the c4d basics then. Hopefully alembic will do the trick.

Hi
C4D and a good choice, and many users use the Indigo and may give suggestions.

Thanks for info too. I'll start learning C4D then I think. Though it will take me a while as I will be fitting it in to my free time!

Hey DanJ,
as a shortcut you can skip C4Ds Material System, since Indigo has his own materials inside of C4D.
Alembic features just had been updated in the recent R18 release, otherwise also try FBX.
If I understand correctly you rather need to learn setting up a Indigo scene in C4D then C4D by it self (for the start)
Here you can find some tutorials that help: http://www.indigorenderer.com/documenta ... -cinema-4d

Thank you, I would also need to learn how to model too. I'll see what tutorials there are online for modelling and work my way through them, time and lots of practice are needed I think!
