PLEASE EXCUSE MY STUPIDITY -- indigo RT question(s)
I have sketchup 2015 non pro and wish to buy the basic Indigo RT.
Do I just buy a license and it updates my already installed indigo?
Do I receive the license right away? because I need it for something I need rendered tomorrow.
I'm also running a windows 10 64bit build(non official)
Hopefully I can get my r9 390 working tonight so I can make this all happen though..
(and I know it sounds like I shouldn't be buying it )

The license is delivered instantly by store.glaretechnologies.com, you just upload your computer key (its generated in the app) and your unlock key is generated by the server. That's assuming you pay by paypal of course. I don't about windows 10 / r9 question sorry.

A licensed Indigo is as fast as the demo you tried beforeJelko wrote:now just trying to figure out how to make this thing render as fast as I had hoped..

this is true... and it looks glorious. Now if only I could have afforded all that fancy lighting and scattering.Zom-B wrote:A licensed Indigo is as fast as the demo you tried beforeJelko wrote:now just trying to figure out how to make this thing render as fast as I had hoped..
I wish I wouldn't have waited until I was 30 to get into this stuff.. I can see my learning curve off in the distance

And does anyone know why models I get from the 3d warehouse render faster than the ones I build? Maybe because they know what they're doing? And I build all my models with roofs to mimic natural lighting, so I'm waiting longer for the light to bounce?

Yes, a ceiling does make render times longer, although it makes it much more realistic as well of course. Have you tried exit portals?

If you could show us images it would be way easier for us to point out problems!

Re: PLEASE EXCUSE MY STUPIDITY -- indigo RT question(s)
well I just looked up what exit portals were... and yes that's apparently what I have been using all along. But my recent model was using exit portals with another roof over top (think of a "car port") because I was going for a dimly lit hallway. Maybe I should try without the roof and adjusting iso? then remove extra lighting shadows with photoshop? please excuse my laymans terms.Oscar J wrote:Yes, a ceiling does make render times longer, although it makes it much more realistic as well of course. I'd include some screen shots but I'm on my work computer and my indigo is at home
thanks for all the help though, I'm so happy I finally bought RT
Re: PLEASE EXCUSE MY STUPIDITY -- indigo RT question(s)
Nevermind - forget about my problems haha
I need to read directions and practice patience.. I didn't finish reading exit portal and thought all it was was material cut out to allow the light through, I didn't realize I was editing mesh.
Thanks for all the help and I'm off to the tutorials now!
