Creating a mesh geometry with Indigo's displacement

Post by Onizuka » Tue May 19, 2015 6:26 am

Hi every body,

I'm wondering about something that could be very usefull (at least for me):

If I want to create a landscape with indigo renderer, I open Sketchup, create a rectangular face as to be the ground, I apply a landscape texture, I subdivise the geometry, and apply some displacement parameters, then I export the scene to Indigo and it calculates the ground geometry by subdividing and displacing the rectangular ground face.

There is my question: can we let Indigo generate this landscape, and then convert it/isolate the subdivided landscape as a single mesh component/geometry to be reopened in Sketchup, or any other modeling program ?

I hope you understand my question and can give it an answer

I think Indigo does save displaced meshes on disk (optionally, may be on by default) but it would then take an igmesh plugin for SU and I don't know about that.

Thanks CTZN for your answer.
Ok so I should just need a converter/exporter reverse from indigo to sketchup ? Does someone know about it please ?

Indigo doesn't save the subdivided and displaced mesh to disk, sorry!
