Hi Indigo ;-)

I have made this file http://energiilivet.dk/rhv.jpg in SketchUp, and start Render Scene friday midday, and stop it monday morning (3 days) when it says netx image will be update at 62 hours!

Im not impresset over the quality.

I think im doing something wrong, and maybe you can help me whit some setting (i have only touch the Image dimension to 1280x720)

I have a brand new iMac 7i whit 24GB ram.

I cant attach the SketchUp file.

Greetings Jesper

Hi there. I think you might find some answers from people on the forum if you were to supply a little more information, for instance a few raw SketchUp images showing the model extent, which settings you used in Indigo will also help.

WIth the information available there will probably be a few suggestions on how to address problems you may be having.

Also be sure to read the manual, I refer to it from time to time just to be sure.

This might be a quite unorthodox answer but here goes:

If you're on Mavericks, the system will stop rendering after an hour or two once you leave the computer alone. That's even with the Indigo app selected. Mavericks is strict when it comes to power savings. I experienced the same thing a few days ago. Unfortunately I have not found a solution to this issue, other than creating an automator workflow that switches between apps to simulate computer use.

TLDR: Your rendering didn't render for 3 days. It likely rendered for an hour or two.

EDIT: Glare - can you help this from happening, or is it outside of the coding possibilities?

solution:
go to system prefs, energy saver... there you have to play around... e.g. put the hard disk sleep and so on.

That behavior has not just started with Maverics and as already mentioned in the System Settings -> Energy Saver you can set different times for when the Computer goes to sleep and when the Display go to sleep.
The settings are intuitive and self-explanatory Id venture to say.

If you don't mind you can install Caffeine http://lightheadsw.com/caffeine/.
It will keep the Computer and the Display "awake" but is very convenient!

Also, I think it is better to turn off "App Nap" in the panel 'Info about Indigo" (CMD-I)

Thanks for all your reply ;-)

Very interrestet whit the Power Save! I have now downloaded the Caffeine App ;-)

But still if the rendering goes on in 3 hours i think the resolution/result should be better in 1280x720 ?

The only settings i have done in Indigo is the resulution, i have not touch the others.

I attach a SketchUp pic and i think its a very simpel rendering draw!?

And im starting whit the manuel ;-)

Give us more info. What rendering method are you using? Are you using glass acc/arch glass? What does your lighting setup look like?

I tested with these settings. No difference.

Will try that tonight and post back tomorrow.

@ Oscar J - the rendering method is Reinhard, if you mean in the Tone Mapping. I have not touch the materials, so it shoud be default.
But has the material something whit the quality and resolution on the final picture ?

Change the Imaging tab to Render settings - there you can find all the different rendering methods.

I think your scene looks okay now for being a two minute render.

I have a new imac and I just turned all of the energy settings to never sleep and turn off the "power nap" option and I haven't had a problem with Indigo stopping rendering. to turn off just the display you press control-shift-eject and it lets everything else keeps running.

Hi Smukkehansen, by quality you mean realistic?
I also suggest you to dowload some materials of your interest :http://www.indigorenderer.com/materials/ and see how they work.

Hi Fenerolina,

No i dont mean realistic, i mean that the quality of the picture is mush like a lowres and i think it could be much better for a 3-4 hours rendering.

Se the picture here:

I think your model is too open : try to put a roof and 1 or 2 walls for a more realistic light !
Here the light came from the top, right and left of your model so there is no realy good shadows.
