New GPU or new CPU?

Post by vl_dm » Tue Nov 15, 2011 8:13 pm

Hello,

I am new in Indigo and I was wondering which is more important for Indigo - The GPU or the CPU. I have i7 2600 3.4 ghz and gts450. I want to have one gtx590 but I dont know will it be fast enough because it costs allmost like two i7s 2600. Which is better - to upgrade the gpu or the cpu... And does Indigo support multiple GPU rendering - the gtx 590 is with two processors - how does Indigo recognize it - like one gpu or like two,

Thanks in advance,

Vladimir

your system seems quite powerful! A second Computer, conected via LAN and helping to render via Network-rendering would be the best "upgrade" regarding "bang-for-the-buck" I think...
At the moment Indigo only works with one GPU, so multiple Graphic Cards or also multiple GPUs on 1 Card aren't supported.
This may change in the future, but only Glare can tell more here!
