[Could you] email which are open source and which are freeware? Then I'll update the list. Cheers.
I started working down the list before I realised you had already done it! There are a couple of errors in the freeware section which I have here for you to correct. I have also subclassified by operating system.

So here we go ;-).

---------------------------

Opensource :

Wings 3d (cross platform - NOT Freeware!)

Plasma pong (windows only)
Paint.net (windows only)

------Freeware-------

Indigo (Cross platform - using wine)
Voodoo camera tracker (Cross platform)
Poseray (Cross platform - using wine)

Chaoscope (windows only)
Picassa (windows only)
Acme Online Masonry Designer (windows only)
Genetica (windows only)
TopMod (windows only)
ShapeShop v002 (windows only)
Mapzone (windows only)
Super (windows only)
Irfanview (windows only)
SBC Archiver (windows only)

------Demo/Beta-------

Moment of Inspiration (windows only)

-----------------

That is just an elaboration/correction for the freeware section only! Nice list you got there!

Koba

P.S> I would also make a note that Blender, Gimp and Inkscape are all cross platform. If you have time, I would specify operating system for the whole list.

It's funny how you don't think about cross-platform issues when you're a windows-only user. Thanks for that Koba. I'll do my best to get it done :)

It's funny how you don't think about cross-platform issues when you're a windows-only user.
I use windows currently but I'm praying for the day when I can move over to linux (mainly game issues). I feel it is important to use cross-platform (mainly linux/windows) software so I don't get tied to Microsoft and their evil monopoly!

So here is another sort!

---Cross platform ---

Blender - cross platform.

Inkscape - cross platform.

GIMP - cross platform.

Makehuman - cross platform.

Freestyle NPR - cross platform.

ImageMagick - cross platform.

Swftools - cross platform.

Screenweaver - cross platform (windows/Mac).

Openlaszlo - cross platform.

Electric sheep - cross platform.

Ubuntu - operating system!

OpenOffice - cross platform.

Jedit - cross platform.

Audacity - cross platform.

Jahshaka - cross platform.

Bacula - cross platform.

MeshLab - cross platform.

MySQL - cross platform.

SciTE - cross platform.

Truecrypt - cross platform.

GREYCstoration - cross platform.

Ardour - cross platform (linux and mac)

Ivy Generator - cross platform (windows and mac)

DVD Flick - windows only.

VirtualBox- cross platform.

--- Windows only ---

Smartision ScreenCopy - windows only

Eraser - windows only.

Apophysis - windows only.

ClamWin - windows only.

TA Springs - windows only (linux server)

TortoiseSVN - windows only.

Virtualdub - Windows only

I can't find any mention of plasmapong being open source. No mention of the GPL license. Are you sure it's open source?

Good point!

Funny, I was convinced it was open source. Sorry!

OK. I think the list is pretty correct and up-to-date now. I've added icons to show platform compatibility (which is a very hard word to type). If anyone know any different to what's on the list, let me know and I'll update it.

Great list!

If I find anything new and worthwhile, I'll post here.
Oh and I like the icons!

EDIT> You have some awesome blender tests on your site btw!

Just a couple description suggestions:

Acme Online Masonry Designer - I wrote "archvis" as forum shorthand for "architectural visualization". As part of your list though, I'd spell it out to avoid confusion.

SBC Archiver - I'd mention that it's a command line app.

SciTE - Also just to be a little clearer, it "Supports syntax highlighting".

BTW cool website!
