Fake (scanline renderer)

Post by arneoog » Sun May 04, 2008 3:27 am

I just felt like creating a new thread now that my little renderer is starting to take shape,
and also maybe get some help with a few things.. ;]

I've decided to call it Fake, btw.. as it has nothing to do with real life calculations.. X]
At the moment I have support for: camera, perspective, obj import, bmp output, depth sorting,
texture mapping (no loader yet) and some filters ^^

..just to have said it, I'm not trying to promote this thing, as it is pretty useless still XD
It's a personal project to learn graphical programming in C++ :D

I have a feeling this topic has become kinda messy already.. XD
Okay, here are some renders from it:
Render 01 - Render 02 - Render 03 - Render 04
And a here is a file, so you can see the scene format: Click

Great :)
Now for a few questions (The three things I really struggle with) ^___^'

1. Some sort of pretty fast adjustable Blur Filter,
you can't imagine how many days I have tried to get this working
..well maybe you can (5 days), it's simply the concept of how to program it I can't really get >_<

2. Simple BMP loader, just get the width and height, and of course the pixels (in three values/variables)

3. And how to use libraries to make some png (maybe jpg) image support for this thing :)

Pretty senseless thread.. yeah...... sorry ^___^''
Cheers! :D

Also, the bmp reader stuff.. Simply can't get it to do what I need it to.. >_>

..Mark, I have been to All of these pages already X]''
Thanks, btw :)
