4D fractal

Post by Kram1032 » Fri May 02, 2008 8:05 am

Everyone here most likely knows the Mandelbrot set. Though, did you know that this 2D image actually is just a cut through a 4D fractal? (Ok, probably some knew that already, but surely not everyone^^)
I found a cool page about showing the whole thing at once :)
http://www.superliminal.com/fractals/
It's an amazing image :D
(If you already looked through the wiki before, and did so carefully enough, you might already have seen that, as the technique - "Buddhabrot" - is shown. But the last step, the "Buddhabrot Hologram" or short "Buddhagram", isn't shown there.)
Those images are amazing :D
On google video, I found some animated videos, partly linked on the page, I linked above.

The video is stunning.
I love fractals and the fact that they exist everywhere around us (like parabolas). :D

Thanks for the links. ^^

Edit: Nice! There's some source code included. :D

Yes, forgot to mention that :)
cool, isn't it?
I didn't mean to only watch that single video but any of those, listed on the left, as it's the whole list of finds :) most of them are pretty nice. I watched them all, as there aren't too many. just two pages....
