International renderfarm software?

Post by daniel_nieto » Fri Jun 01, 2007 6:19 am

i was thinking in a p2p-like software, but it'll be a renderfarm, where you download that software and automatically connect to all the computers that have this software and render your scene, at the time your render on everybody's pc, they also render on yours, could it be done, i think it maybe saves time on rendering, it'd be a international renderfarm, :P ...

personally i'd have this software running all day long, even if i'm not rendering anything... what do you think of it? could it be possible to develop?

Something like this?

Thats for blender, something like it for indigo would be very different from the data exchange point of view i suppose. Sending .igi images by internet means huge traffic.

I've tried Hamachi only with 2 computers, but there it worked perfectly. But I agree, those huge igi files are a problem.
