fryrender
i'm one of these idiots though i don't think i am. might be a matter of point of view.radiance wrote:this seems to be a new third player.
seems compareable to indigo in its current state.
altough we have much more members, forum posts and especially gallery pics
you'd have to be a complete idiot to pay them $500 for they're product
greetz,
radiance
the reason there is not a lot of forum members is because there not a lot to see.
the reason there not a lot to see is because beta buyers are under NDA, which i think is quite normal since the software is in beta and showing unfinished product renders may quickly turn into bad advertising if not done wisely.
Cheers,
lwan

if you want to think about it as a business model (for making money), he can continue to work on indigo himself and have it free. It gets his name out, he gets a lot of credit, it looks very impressive, and he can become a consultant for companies (which pays very well if your good).
Yes i know, my spelling sucks

what! there's a business model planned for indigo????I like Indigo too but I think Nick makes a mistake working on this on his own and the business model he plans.
ouch!, this all sounds we will be loosing Indigo soon (Darn! now that I was becoming so fond of it!) I just hope they make it affordable if it becomes a commercial product , otherwise it will be another price-bloated application reserved for those with big pockets.
on an offtopic side note: I'm totally hipnotized by radiance's new avatar!!!!

Nice words Big Fan.
I take part with indigo since the 0.2 version (febr. 2006).
it is almost over 9 months of participation.
This was an extremely excited time for me to see indigo grow from budgie to an condor.
hundreds of hours for to reconnoiter and play with indigo.
I really enjoy Indigo, and you ono enjoyed to see people enjoying your software.
Thank you very much Ono!
In this commercialized fucked world you gave this technically excellent piece of software for free for any purpose and people.
i like this most on indigo.
But on the other hand big fan is right with his statements.
I think indigo will have an a competitive edge for one and two years and whats then?
i can see it, every raytrace builder will implement mlt in his or her engine!
and in the nature of men, people will change their renderer and many people will forget Ono-sendai.
And if this your hobby ono,why dont you make your hobby to your profession or company?
indigo has the potential for this!
arent we indigoists?,hope not egoists.
good night
