Nah.. i don't care about the future - i want speed and i want it nowCTZn wrote: A board wich sockets will be out of date soon
I've been using AMD for over 5 years now. I have no idea what chipset is good for Intel. Any recommendations what board to get for my new quad core? I'm pretty much lost in "Intel's land".
I have been using my AMD Barton for a long time now. I have a hard time trying to move on since I do not do much, if at all, gaming on my computer. And I sure don't need a faster processor for opening notepad when I do some programming.
It seems AMD's 'true' version of the Quad will be much faster than Intel's double-dual setup but I guess we will see. Also, the new Intel core 45nm seems to be much faster than its current lineup so soon it looks like it will get interesting.
I hope AMD can come out of debt soon and get their processors together, if Intel dominates we will be stuck with quad cores for ten years.
My speech above is only based on what I have read from various news sites on the internet so who knows if it has any truth to it.
It is also my own opinion and I have no favorites, I have used Intel and AMD in the past. When I buy, I pick whoever is faster for the money at that current day in the market.
