i bet u my left leg that u could EASILY get this game running on a rig under $5000 and nicely too. my current machine cost me R13 500 which is about $2500. core 2 duo, 2 gigs team elite ddr2 800 mhz, nvidea 8800gts 320mb and some mega cooling thanks to zalman. my rig will more than definatly play this game in a satisfactory way :P. o and guys remember how long ago this game was actually made hey. seriosuly. this thing has been a tech demo for AGGGESSSSSS we talking like early 2005, the only real hurdle for most people is the DX10 architextures. but any mid ranged 8 series card (or, heaven forbid, the new DX10 ati cards, which happen to be like 3 foot long) would do the trick.

cant wait to grab a copy ;)

there actualy 9.5" long at the most, shorter then the 8800gtx :)

In 2025, maybe binary systems will be over. More than half a century back in the past, scientists found that the optimum number for a system was 2.7, not 2. Like yes, no and maybe
scientists are supposedly working on something like this, except it has 10 types, 10 numbers, like 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9. because bites would not have to be binary, it could greatly speed up systems, although there might be a vastly different os to cpu interface by that time anyway. Last i heard something like this was being done with spinning particles (ultranano gyrosocope?).

8) So guys ... who played the demo already? 8)

All I can say, with my crappy GeForce 7600GS under XP is, that the demo
kicks A$$ big times! I played it for about 1h30m and had a lot of fun, ...
... yeeeeaaaahaaaa!!!!11ELF *LOOOOL*

But I've to say, that I haven't played any shooters for about 2 years. :P :D ;)

Have fun with the demo, it's great!

btw. Sandbox 2 is included ... :twisted:

Where are the innovations?
Half of the things (like environment) are pre-calculated over positioning (and that's not realtime)..

HDR maps were also in half life 2.
Soft Particles is a standard...
MBlur and DoF .... SSS REALTIME?

I like the caustics in the water in the demo :wink:

but it is pretty much like Far Cry. The funny thing is treen bases are so easy to cut down with MG fire, but small branches can't..

Hey dude, im a game fan since first 80's
I was talking about what crytek is saying about realtime fancy things...
Those things can work for gamespot users not for ppl who know how things work..

Anyways, cannon fodder was better

the game is ages forward in 3d technology and real time rendering.....in my system works like a real sceens on some forest....
amazing shadows from sun-leaves-objects...... the env is perfect.....
and its a pre release.......imagine the future.....
