2 mm diameter is not enough for the first light plane. If the diaphragm is opened, the focus is lost (more over, with other cams).
With the modeled coating, the light pass through 52 mediums only for the cam...
And stop by the moment...

Looks good, is that with the updated sky model? (e.g. with latest Indigo release)

Yes, it is.
Only a subtle S curve as postproduction. Linear tonemapped EXR.

41.5 millions of instances.
Awaiting for slope (and others) possibilities with the scatter... with patience.

Ok, adding,
This is a test with the following shader:
Code: Select all
def evalCreate(int index, vec3 p) bool :
normalWS(env).z > 0.8
p.s. excuse me for posting such an ugly image in your thread of beautiful images

quickrender_3.jpg
is it indigo rendering result? 41 mln of instances??? how?
indigo seams going into a deepest trance while cinema 4d igs exporting with only 1 mln multi-instances scene - screenshot 1,
with huge memory leaks, screenshot 2.
just add simle cinema 4d scene to try...

wob: this is using Indigo scattering, which creates the instances in Indigo itself.
This tends to be a lot faster and use less memory, since it avoids the export process, doesn't try and render previews in C4d, etc..

i know how it works (redshift proxy), but can i use it in cinema 4d in cindigo or it's available only in standalone app? and where is this function avaliable, in which menu?
and why cinema 4d multi-instances dont work like that scattering?
