Re: Workstation question - serious.
bahamut, how is that new rig performing? I've been considering building a couple network slaves, and was checking out the Xeon E5-2630s as they seem to be a bit cheaper and only a little bit slower.
What motherboard have you got your 2640s mounted on?

Ok. It's almost a year since I have that one .
It's goooooood. I mostly render indigo animations with it.
Still waiting to test gpu though
Zom-B told me that the speed of it alone is like his rig (3 machines if I remember correctly)

Hi Bahamut,
I apologize for bumping into a semi-old thread, but I'd like to ask you if could could post the link to the company you purchased your workstation from.
I'm interested in checking out their machines.
regards,
Alvaro

From the picture, it looks custom built! All the parts are available individually.
The case is a Fractal Design (maybe Define R5)
The PSU is a Corsair RM1000
The CPU cooling looks like Corsair Hydra series, but I'm not 100% sure
