On a side note, (triple post check it up), many very exciting announcements concerning nanotechs are being made recently, stuff we used to think as the amalgamation of several heavy and complex tools now fit within the width of a few atoms; holographic sensitive screens, I mean, whatnot, is knocking at the door.

Brace yourself.

Huh, a bit too much for me. I'm not a scientist :?
Usually I listen to this stuff before I fall to sleep. Since It is hard to grasp I stop thinking about my tinnitus :D
Tonight I'll be listening to this one:

Here is a shorter version:

I think both of them have something in common.

Thank you for your replay! Glad you like it :D

Mmh I'm not a scientist either, I stopped school before I was 18, you are embarrassing me

I was meaning that without the base camp granted to science by that consensus, one is free to sample reality from any referential (as opposed to experimented facts) and lose his mind before his peers, unless he himself is able to bridge the gaps.

One thing that science would benefit from acquiring are the extents of anthropocentrism; then will we be able to think consciousness in a wider sense. As far as I'm concerned, forces exerted in a molecule by one atom on another through covalent bonds, emerging as the form of the said molecule, are the premise of consciousness; a feedback loop.

I take for granted that consciousness is an emerging caracteristic of stuctures, regardless of their scale (but proportionally to their nodes count). Perhaps that ultimately and by our human nature, the expression of consciousness matters a lot more than consciousness alone

I hope that I didn't steal your sleep aleksandera !

I'm throwing this in quickly:

News from graphene: it can be used for light emission and may not burn as a filament.

Also, it can make up one-atom-thick (Fresnel) lenses said to break the refraction limit, whatever that means.

Almost forgot: non-carbon graphenes have been discovered and are being investigated further.

You are an architect ? You should, seriously, consider the challenge of building using carbon for most if not all structures, circuitry, glasses, and what not. Carbon has taken many shapes and many functions nowadays.

Welcome to the Carbon Era (pasta yummy !).

Nice thread

As Tesla observed, space is just an attribute... it can't be bent. Medium can. Space/distance/volume is without anything else. Even within nothing there's infinitely wast space. From nothing to nothing is immeasurable eternity of nothing. Don't know how but this seems to me perfect logic. Math is a base to physics.
What i can comprehend is all in order and an absolute reality is not sure. Flux. :D

We are kind of close to crystalline storage: http://www.nanowerk.com/nanotechnology- ... =43604.php
I think the right design for our respiratory system would be big crystals one could handle, as opposed to the best grinding material available. *Cough*

Yes, so far I've seen just three minutes and it is very enlightening ! I would have rejected that publication of yours if it wasn't for the topic of this, humpf, vizualisation 8)

A very useful work indeed, thanks !

Hi Jayko, I would like to keep this thread free from "trivial" computer technologies, siggraph papers etc as there is plenty of room for those all around the web (and there are too many of interest). No harm done, though !

I'd like it more to be insightful to the future trends rather than small steps. I do focus on optics if you noticed, but I am not getting any closer to the Indigo realm for the matter, and with reason.

Thank you !

ie the "metalens" can tell you whether the molecule tastes sweet or bitter of sorts.

It is interesting to notice that we are equipped with taste to reject a chirality over the other (considering that DNA is a chiral molecule).

That's the kind of digressions I would like to encourage here ;)
