I have wanted this for some time in a number of programs but has of yet I have not seen it to come to pass.
It would be nice if we could set a thickness for the triangle. This would allow for the edge to hold a highlight. It could also work for things like paper or carpet.
This has been faked with normals but this does not work will for thickness greater than paper.
Thick Triangles
No, that's not true!manitwo wrote:c4d, there is a "make thicker" plugin.they do exactly the same (the cnurb can additionalyI would suggest you to use "CNurbs" which is even more handy for such purposes
subdivide the mesh in the cnurb way)
In fact, the "make thicker" plugin is nearly the same like an extrude operation with "create caps" activated.
The difference is, that both of these really change the geometry and create new polygons whereas the "CNurbs" work more like a Hypernurbs objekt in a, let's say, "virtual" way. You just have to switch it of or remove it and your model looks and acts like before.
Okay, for the final result in Indigo, this is marginal but for your work in C4D it could make a big difference!
you are right - with a c-nurb you still have the possibily to change or remove the thickness everytime you want.Phoenix wrote: No, that's not true!

Just convert it to polygon(press the c button) if you need that.
Dont forget to set "subdivide" to "0" and then it is the same
