[REQ] change tonemapping while rendering

Post by CoolColJ » Thu Oct 25, 2007 6:57 pm

You should be able to change tonemapping types and adjust their settings while Indigo is rendering -

being able to adjust EV or exposure, Burn etc while rendering is needed. It's too hit and miss as it is right now

most of unbiased renderers allow you to do this like Radium, Kerkythea, Maxwell, Fryrender etc

I agree. Very good idea. Especially with the new camera tonemapping. It's a very nice feature, but the amount of tweaking needed to get the perfect setting just makes it virtually unusable for heavy scenes if you have to export again at every tweak... Ideally, you'd have the Indigo GUI and Violet rolled into one...

... and violet should be updated for camera tonemapping :D (anyone, who can code good enough in C++ for that?)
interactive adjustment would be great, indeed :)

violet needs some bugs fixed first before adding anymore to it...like the bug where after a couple of changes it just goes into an endless "updating" state using 0% CPU

...and of course it needs porting to linux :D

...and the histogram should get resized correctly or simply set to not resize at all, when resizing the window and the algos should be made more effective (if that's possible) and the tone mapping should get rewritten to have a proper value and the...
