Texture-Maps: Projection and Triplanar

Post by bkircher » Wed Apr 11, 2007 6:44 pm

Hi there,
I wonder if it's difficult to implement texture mapping via projection, with a scale factor (and possibly an offset).
That would simplify applying Structures (Wood, concrete, etc.) greatly.

?

My guess as to Ono's reply:

That's none of Indigo's business.

:?: Why's that?

Texture Projection is independend of uv-mapping and automatically applies the same scele of texture to all objects shaded by the corresponding shader.

so:
My guess as to Ono's reply:

That's such a great idea, omg how could I have missed it, (faciliating interoperability with different shading engines and all).

I don't pretend to be Ono, well, except on weekends, but what I do for money shoved into my pants is no one's business.

I do know that Indigo is for rendering, not texturing and modeling.

If you want such a feature it would be far more helpful for your favorite 3D software to implement it (and then you may export the created UV mapping anywhere).
