Re: [REQ] v4 video functionality
It doesn't - you do. With halt time or halt spp.
Re: [REQ] v4 video functionality
I believe it is not an easily understandable system proves that there are very few examples on the web!
What are the differences between halt time or halt spp?

Re: [REQ] v4 video functionality
I'm sorry, but it literally could not be any easier.
In one box you specify at what time each frame should halt, and in the other box you specify at what spp (samples per pixel) the rendering should halt. If you don't specify either, Indigo will keep on rendering the frame for an unlimited time, which means you'll face great difficulties getting any animation out of it.

Re: [REQ] v4 video functionality
Do a test render for one image until you reached the desired visual quality. The halt settings can be inferred from the time it took to reach this quality, and the actual sample count of the test render.
If your sequence is changing a lot you want to use several test frames along the animation for better tuning.
Also, it is best to have the render halting by sample count rather than by time, for a consistant sampling result across frames.

Hi
Thanks for your kind response.
In truth I suspect that may be made of the earlier tests.
In essence it is preferable to halt spp vs halt time, right?

Re: [REQ] v4 video functionality
This depends on your constraints. If you have 48h to render 4 images, set your halt time to 12h.contegufo wrote:Hi

The main advantage of halt spp is, the quality will not depend on the computer you are using. For instance if you are using your laptop and your desktop to render a set of images, and you want consistent quality across images, set them to the same halt spp.

Hi
Once a frame is calculated automatically switches to the next?
It would be desirable to also save as movie as well as single frame.
