Re: Null Black Light source with IES (C4D R14)
that is because IES emitters get transformed to a single tiny triangle that emitts light.
For emitters best always to use material based aproach for best controle.
Propper IES workflow is also a little of work to have best performance...
I planed to do yome tutorial on this since its really not that intuitive!

Re: Null Black Light source with IES (C4D R14)
IES lights are a bit of a pain. The reason why they're not bright from some angles is because they don't emit light in all directions, so of your camera is outside of the cone of light the IES is spreading, it's not going to get by any photons from the lamp and the lamp will render black.
A tut would be great ZomB, and a function for IES lights that make them emit a little bit in all directions would be even greater Ono.

Thank you, guys! I seem to understand the principle of ... try to change any ies without a black hole. I will try to draw a black hole Photoshop))
Square soffit everything is clear and there are some techniques play a round spotlight? I tried to hide the light under the glass cover (material lampshade), but the light is scattered on the sides and rendering time last very long

Re: Null Black Light source with IES (C4D R14)
I have an idea that is untested but you could try to blend two emitting materials: one with IES and another with a weak emission so it does not contribute to lighting to much, but remains visible to camera.
At a distance of zero the light from an IES is all contained into an infinitely small point; nothing to see directly either; only the effects of light are expected to be seen from them really, not the source.

IES21 vs. NO IES
why with IES walls have a yellowish tint?
why with IES walls have a yellowish tint?
Re: Null Black Light source with IES (C4D R14)
I suggest because the IES version has a spotlight that hits the yellow floor, from that yellow tinted light is reflected into the room.Zalevskiy wrote:why with IES walls have a yellowish tint?

I think you are spot on Zom-B, well spotted ! By the way, the IES version looks much better.

IES version looks absolutely realistic to me!
