Push to 100% GPU rendering on GTX 970?

Post by ass5001 » Tue May 05, 2015 9:54 am

Hey Ono,
just coming up again with a new request...
Should indigo push system to 100% GPU rendering?
Now i just can use 30%-45% of GPU power on GTX 970.
thanx!

I'm not a developer or anything, but yes, I think the whole point of the upcoming GPU rendering release is to allow us to use the full potential of our GPU's, regardless of how powerful it is.

the most strange thing is:
when i try to set the render threads number to 35
(just for fun,i only have a 4 core cpu 4790k with dubbel-threade).
the CPU is still working as 99%-100%
but the GPU can be raised to 50-60%.
and it's faster than choose "auto"

Can this be confirmed ? That would be a nice hack perhaps ? Would it be safe ?
