[req] Adjust colour temperature of image in gui

Post by William » Fri Feb 01, 2013 11:23 am

It would be convenient to have a colour temperature adjustment in the Indigo GUI. (for the entire image)

The white point controls are for this purpose. They are found between the tonemapping and histogram tabs in the Render Settings, and come with presets.
obsolete asset

Well yes of course. The reason is that x/y controls are ridiculous to expect anyone to set manually and the presets are too far between.

Pick a pixel on the picture itself, it works fine for me.

I don't want to set white specifically but instead desire to adjust the temperature (ie warm/cold on a camera)

maybe adjust the temp of your light source, then?

Edit: by the way, using the white point picker doesn't change the tone mapping or exposure of your image, just recalibrates what reads as "neutral"

Could also be done in photoshop. It's all about convenience and interaction/tweaking which can help you achieve the better result.

Your right though tweaking the light layer can work in a similar way, but setting the light layer temperature damages it's colour in an unattractive way (for example the sun will go too blue or green).
