please remove dof blur, so scene renders faster!
(Preview scene should be optimized regarding render speed too!)

The current scene has pretty minimal dof blur.

Still wasted extra sampling, isn't it?
Imagine that scene integrated as material preview scene in a 3D app (like cindigo).
Every extra second to wait until some spp are reached is slowing down the workflow...

Yeah. Looks kinda bad (reddish) on my monitor, but I guess that's just the monitor's fault.

By the way, do you know what the albedo is for e.g. white card that might be used for a studio setup like this? I think it may be more than 0.5.
This depends a lot on the scene!
You can use greys : http://www.digixo.com/studio-photo/ecla ... nt115.html

Or white : http://www.ibashop.fr/615-2209-thickbox ... oftbox.jpg

Or black : http://images.pricerunner.com/product/2 ... airage.jpg

Well, do you want it, use it and abuse it?

Does that mean blackbody 6500K? If that's the case I get the magenta white balance bug when using that. How did you get the gray?

Nope, D65 and 6500K are close, bud different. You need to use tabulated spectral values as in my previous post
