Post by garphik » Wed Dec 20, 2006 6:34 pm

Hi everyone, this is my newest work, one of my fav cars

Image
modeled in blender and rendered in indigo.

the shaders turned out perfectly as expected
Rendertime was a little human ~3hrs but I have to cook it a bit longer,
a newer different version is coming up too
what do you think about it :D

wow !
Modeling and materials are superb. Good work!

Only thing i'd complain is the lighting. It's a bit too dark. Try to tonemap it to increase the overall brightness level.
Maby something towards this?

It's really a mather of personal preference though.
Otherwise - really nice !!

[edit] Where are the windshields? 8)

Good job man!!
I would like to be able to model a car or something like human faces or human sculpture (v. "Aurora" of Michelangelo).
I'll learn... I hope!!

suvakas: cheers man, you are right about the tone map, but whats the glass :? I think I set the IOR to 1.0, but it should reflect certainly, I have to look in a bit. thanks mate

Using an IOR of 1.0 will result in no reflection, 100% transmission, due to the Fresnel equations.

Still a beautifull model and very good materials, and a nice render also, but it's a pity the front and sides are so much in the dark :? It's mainly a matter of a lighter floor/background if I shall...

Or, well, that's the way you like it but I'm thinking that maybe your screen gamma is too strong or something. If you see it like le and like it, then fine :)
