On a topic unrelated to the renders... how were you planning to use the wind up balconies with the railings on? were they just removable or did they do something clever with hinges etc?

BAM! Fuck da police, the 1_modul_boira.jpg one is so gooood!
Thank you kokolores!
removable or ... with hinges
They were planed to be removable. With hinges it's possible too but more expensive.
Here's a sample texture of the snow I took from the sketchup file. Settings of the material have probably changed from the original because it's an old and revisited file.
Also a little skp file to show you how i used the txt. If missing: Inside group, edit active mesh, max subdivision to 5, smooth and view depended. The render will eat 1gb.

Haven't you had problems with ram with such a megagiga texture on a megagiga surface?!
You always amaze me mate
I must say that with 1_modul dia 2 you got me: I believed it was a render over an existing photo.

Check the skp viewport shot few lines above: the tip is to hand make more geometry where the camera is located before subdividing the whole terrain..

The first plan with this photoreference was to make a nice photomatch in skp. But I wasn't enough patient to get the perspectives of the picture matched in skp and didn't model the rest. So it's more a simple material and lighting exercise
. Also I had fun whith clay renders and skp lines.

WoW! Very very close to the original shot!
And what a great concrete texture! Where did you get it?
I only think the floor need a little more contrast and bump.. apart from that, just perfect!
EDIT: the clay renders with lines are always wonderful. Love them.

Great Renders! I particularly like the idea with the light pattern traveling along the wall as the sun moves across the sky.

Good stuff! Concrete looks like Arroway, isn't it?

Thank you pibuz and Lape and thanks for the advice. Yes, the concret txt is the 13th texture from arroways concret pack mixed with a noise map in exponent channel. Bump is not so visible in the floor but it is in the wall.
the clay renders with lines are always wonderful.
yes! it's a classic.

Thanks Headroom. That would be a lovely timelapse. How's your led device going?

What a lovely mood!
You know you've done a good job when your render looks more realistic than the photo reference.
