Still, fairly clean and looks really cool! How did you make the bubbles? Spheres with a transparent material with an IOR of 1?

i found blender the first time i played with very difficult, though i had never used another 3d software, but nowadays it's way too easy for me, and for example i simply dont understand Maya... sorry for the question, i hadnt seen you were working on C4D, it's ok, sometimes i do forget that not all indigo users are blender users too...

the thing with blender is that almost everything is done by hotkeys so you have remember which keys are used to do something, and also, in every mode the same keys are used for other functions, so it's pretty complicated to learn it at first hand, but with practice, it make your work very easy and quick....

there are a lot of tutorials of blender on http://www.blender.org/education-help/, jejeje there you can see quickstart tutorial, and basic tutorials, the good thing about blender is that's free! and very lightweight (only 13mb)... and can run on almost any x86 platform. :D

off course, all this is in my opinion, im not an architect like the most users here, im simply a student of computer systems engineering.

You should met with joegiampaoli, he lives in guanajuato too, but i haven't seen him around here in a lot of time tho!

Ok Daniel, thanks for the tip, I'm going to look around and try to learn Blender, at the begining I was working with 3ds Max and after with Sketchup, but I found cinema so easy to work with, but I'll give blender a chance to catch me because I want to work with Linux and Blender is the only serious choice for the job.

Estamos en contacto, en todo caso, te escribiré en español con algún comentario en inglés para que no se pierdan los amigos de habla inglesa.

Saludos.

After 27 hours here is the render, I denoise it and then applied a bit of fine noise to enhance the contrast.
The bubbles have an ior of 1.5.

Great tank :D
So, you use GLASS bubbles inside WATER to fake AIR bubbles? xD

There'd be three ways of doing those bubbles "correctly" (three I'm aware of, that is)

1) (has to be mesh and not primitive in that case) just use the same material as for the water but invert the normals

2) Create an "air" material (no absorption, IoR 1, specular transparent) and set it's precedence higher than the water's.

3) (Most fake, I guess and might be a bit buggy but easiest to setup...
Use balls, made of "null" materials.

Suggestion: put something green into the tank. Those fishes are rather poor, not being able to relax anywhere...

Hello again, I follow some of the advise from Kram and made an "air" material with the ior 1 and inverted the normals of the bubbles either.
I love how the bubbles look.
Sorry no green yet but in the next image will be a jungle in there. :D

Ok, lol, so you combined two techiques xD
They where to be used seperately. But as I see, it worked just fine anyway. :D

Nice pano shot :) Now, you only need to work on the disurbtion of bubbles' placement and size. They're too uniform....
Oh and if you're at it, you might also want to make the tank-bottom less uniform ;) As well as your fishes atm...

Really great, has potential :D

Can't wait for the jungle :)
also think of bigger stones like here
Image
Or something like branches... you can be pretty creative in designing the interior of your aquarium as you can see here
Image
*Do not try this at home* I guess^^ Oh well...

It's great, amazing. The plants add a nice touch, though they don't look very aquatic :)

that's a really great improvement :D

More realistic by FAR, compared to the previous versions :)

cp: nope, it's not my day-job xD from what was on the page, this actually is the owner of the aquarium.

Mine was far smaller but I liked it a lot :)
