looks like a background mesh problem.... are you using a circle for your "floor"?

No, they are 2 spline with loft object.

The HDR option is easy - just add a HDR EXR image to the environment map slot. Thats all there is to it. Just choose one that is like a kitchenish interior. Plenty of free ones available on the net.

Make sure any HDR maps you use are in the EXR format. If not there is free software on the net for converting - or use Pshop CS3 like I do

One might also use raw format, you just hdrshop and create a sphere map out of a longitude one.
