Hey guys,
I had a second go at building an entire home, though I took something less ambitious than last time - a small, self-contained loft. The inspiration comes from a book at home. Most images were rendered at 1600x1200 or 1200x1200 and downsampled slightly. Render times were around 20 hours per image on my quad. Some images use aperture diffraction, others don't. Lighting comes from the sun through the windows, using exit portals. Most images were de-noised (some of them a lot) but otherwise, no post.
Let me know what you think.
B

Thanks guys. Glad you like it.

Hi Photoguy. The wall is a Blender displacement using an old bump map I had.

Great stuff BbB.
My favourite is the last image, I love the reflections and caustics on the floor.

Thanks, Ono. These caustics and reflections really are areas where I think Indigo wipes the floor with its direct competitors.

great stuff as usual except for the floor texture. didnt come out nice this time, looks painted. stronger bump maybe? ive used that same texture and i find it to be a little cartoony/unrealistic for some reason....

otherwise, awesome!

I always feel a little bit uncomfortable to make crits on almost perfect pictures, specially when I would be enable to do such a beautifull work by myself.

I would like to say that these picures are almost perfect to me, like most of your work BbB, but the two little things that bother me are :
- the material of the stone-like wall. Looks strange, a very uniform dark grey, what could it be ?
- the floor texture. StompinTom says it looks unrealistic for some reason. To me, the reason is that the joints are perfectly aligned, which never happens in real life. In real life, the length of the room is never a perfect multiple of your floor's "slats" (planks ? I don't know the correct english word sorry), so the joints are never aligned.

Apart from these two details, what to say ? It's perfect.
