tap and vase

Post by Qwaszt » Sun Dec 30, 2007 9:19 am

Just two renders of two simple scenes: a tap and a vase.

I hope you will share your thoughts about them with me.

Thanks!

I like the vases especially.
In both cases - there are too many sharp edges. Bevel them.

Actually the edges are bevelled, but as i understand they could do with a bit more bevelling?
Funny you mentioned but thats what i tried to do in both images but probably not enough!

Thanks.

I see the bevels. I think they're fine. I wouldn't touch them.
Nice renders by the way.

Nice, what's funny about art sometimes is the introduction of imperfections to add perfection to a picture. I see what supra sees in these renders in that they are too perfect. Although very nice to look at they seem a little "wonky" and usually that vibe is created when the edges are overly sharp and the corners are perfect square. There are no true sharp edges or square corners in life 8 ) There is always a tolerance to everything(even if it is a half-thousandth). Dirt masks, uneven bevels and some random imperfections really make a nice scene like those look less sterile and more in the moment. Very nice renders though I'm just giving some ideas.

Thanks for the comments!

I will leave the renders as they are, but I will keep all your comments in mind for the future, especially the uneven bevels Neobloodline mentioned.
The tape was intended to be very sterile. So I liked that one the most.

I will have to work on texturing though because I just cant get my hands on that part.
Especially when I look at the renders by BbB, a great inspiration, so BbB: ever considered giving a masterclass?

I will be listening for sure!!
