Leather living - Last image of the year ( I think)

Post by BbB » Wed Dec 19, 2007 10:02 pm

This is what has been rendering on my quad while I was messing around with spiral staircases. All modelled in Blender.
Again, this is one of these scenes that just would not clear (The top one cooked for almost 30 hours at 3200x2000 pixels and at full res it's still dirty as hell). I've added a few detailed and WIP shots lower down. I'm not too happy with this scene. I don't like the POV on the main one very much. I spent hours trying the find the right angle and lighting setup before giving up. There might be something wrong with the architecture of the room, which happens to me all too often when not working from a reference image. Anyway, I thought I'd just post it as it looks like it's going to be my last serious scene this year.
Let me know what you guys think.

Awesome as usual! But how did you get the coffee table to morph like that in the first closeup? Whats your technique? LOL - just kidding - like I said, awesome!

Thanks man. Couldn't do it without your fab exporter. Yes, it's number 12. Nice and shapely.

Well, I was using an older prop then decided I was being lazy so I modeled the great Noguchi table (I picked it because it was nice and not too complex) for a bit of a change.

BbB:

I wish I had a business right farking now (I'm just 22.)

I'd hire you, pay you whatever the hell you wanted. Seriously.

I've learned tons from your renders, textures, etc.!

Great renders as always, and don't worry about the "interesting" angle - it's not needed for every single scene. :)

BbB, my thot on the angle in the first one is that your camera's lens is too "long". You need a wider angle and moved closer to get a similar framing. This will make the depth (perspective effect) be a little more pronounced. It just comes across as a little too "ortho" as is. This works very well for the "detail" scenes you've made, tho! Don't change those!

Sounds like an offer I couldn't refuse

I think you're right about that. Long lens and broad frame make for a problematic combination. But I still think I constructed the scene in a way that just makes it awkward to photograph regardless of the length. Personally I prefer the last shot and I might give it another go with a longer rendertime. Or I'll just pick my props and drop them all in a different, more harmonious setting...

Stunning work as per usual BbB.
The second shot is a little too 'orthogonal' for my taste.
Upload to gallery pretty-please :)

Very nice!
I really like the closeups.

I think, it's a bit strange to have such a dirty wall in a room, where all the rest (including the other walls) is perfect....

Cheers K. They call it shabby-chic

OnoSendai
Sure. But I might try to re-render the last one to get it cleaner before I upload it.

I think you deserve an award :)

I like how all your scenes show the true potential of indigo - they make me want to come back and use it again (I'm a bit tired of working anyway :) )

Stunning work as usual !
I really like those big vases on the second image. Great material.
Also the dof is cool on 3rd.
Too bad i dont have time for Indigo anymore. Your work really inspires.
I can't wait for the holidays to get some free time.

[edit]
Oh, and i also like the pillows
