Wine Cellar Plus...

Post by ianammo » Mon Nov 26, 2007 6:41 pm

Still working on my Poser to Indigo workflow. Scene set up in Poser, exported to OBJ and hand edited IGS file for camera/lights/textures...

The wine Cellar was a DAZ 3D weekly freebie, and the "plus" is DAZ 3D Victoria 4 model.

Next time I'll get a bit more creative with models and scene set-up, this was really just of proof of concept, but I thought I'd post it anyway, as there is not much along this line....

wohoo... The Indigo art gallery is really missing some hot Ladies,
so beware of getting some testosterone filed comments here soon ;-)

Textured (& texture controlled) SSS is something Indigo is really missing,
thats what I think while seeing this Lady.

I tried a lot on an custom Alyx Model from HL2,
perhaps you could try to raise the IOR and reduce the exponent.
ATM there are (for my eyes at least) only reflections visible at the nose/eyes part of the face...

She shouldn't look like bathed in Vaseline, but by reducing the exponent (very) lower you should get some sexy, subtile highlights on your mesh...

looking forward to some more Poser test from ya!

There's definitely some mileage to be had here. Anxious to see more...

Phr0stByte thinks she would look right proper bathed in Vaseline...

Not a big fan of Poser, but I love the texture on the dress - awesome!

I wouldn't say, the skin is perfect - for me, SSS is missing, but anyway:
Great! Well done!
Especially, if you fully handedited the xml :)

Very nice!

We don't see many people renders on here. Well I don't look that often in the artwork section, but I have not seen more than one or two of these in the past. It still amazes me to see that a computer render can look so much like a real person.

I have no criticism for this one! Finished artwork sounds good to me. :)

Thats very nice, I have played around a bit myself with doing a few renders of victoria 4. Can I ask what the skin material is, is it a simple diffuse material? I have found a phong with low exponent blended with a uniform sss material (red) works quite well. Hope to see some more renders from you.

Nice!

I've also tried Poser to Indigo and its a challenge, so congratulations!

One workflow option is to import a Poser .OBJ into Blender,
set cameras/lights/materials there, then use Blendigo for rendering.
However, Indigo uses meters and Poser exports everything in its
own units (1 Poser Unit = 2.62128 meters), so if you go through
Blender you'll need to scale the geometry by 0.3815.

Its a cool picture, I'm looking forward to more of your stuff!

Why don't you render it twice?
Once like this and the second time only with
the sss material, and than composite it in Photoshop
with a transparent layer?

I think this is the best solution for now.

You'll notice right about 30s... it's like fog, it take a while to see the complete picture... ;)
