Scandinavian Interior

Post by BbB » Sun Nov 04, 2007 3:21 am

Nothing too special. Inspired by a Huelsta ad.
Modelled in Blender and MoI3D. Lit by sun and emitters.
Rendered in Indigo9t7 64bits at 2400x1800 over 8 hours. Minor postprod mainly for glare and contrast. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast it cleared.
There are some mapping problems on the paintings.

Well mate, what to say?! First thing is, awesome rendering! ;o)

Now some thoughts, hope you don't mind. The column could use a bit more
shiny shader, right now it looks like it is using the same shader as the wall.

Then I would say it would be cool to put four huge bolts/screws at the top
plate of the column, where it connects to the ceiling. Somehow I'm missing
that little detail.

I could nitpick on other stuff, but right now I wont, have to leave here soon.

Just one more, ... the perspective you've chosen is ok, but maybe a more
"dramatic" angle would make it more interesting ... dunno.

Cya later mate! :D ;)

take care

Hi Psor, how are things?
Thanks for the comments. Yes, the pillar is a bit basic. I somehow overlooked it but it's a good point. It should be a phong, perhaps with some wear and tear.
Don't be shy about nit-picking. It all helps.

Thanks guys. Very kind. There's one huge meshlight, about the length of the wall on the left. It has a power of 8000w with efficacy of 1000 and a very slight reddish tint.
