Testing some commercial models
I normally don't use commercial models, mainly because of price, but given that these ones cost only $0.99, it was hard to resist. The site (www.modelup.com) has a vast mix of stuff that range from the very good to the mildly disappointing, but generaly I found quality to be more than ok. The only thing I did here really were the curtains and the texturing. Even the mosaic is from the MXM library (credits to Stekanio). A little postprod for more contrast.

Merci docteur, very kind.
I do a lot of photography. I can't say it's very good, but you do learn a lot about composition and basic techniques that's very useful when using a renderer like Indigo, which is based on the same principles. In fact, I often find the hardest part of creating an image is in how to frame it. I can't tell you how many scenes I created which I thought worked OK until I realised I couldn't get the right angle on them and gave up.
As for the mosaic, it's a blend of three mats: a diffuse mat for the grit between the tiles, a glossy mat for the tiles with a medium exponent, and a gold nk mat for the reflective bit, using the mask provided with the texture. The golden glow in the centre is a reflection from a circular meshlight placed just behind the camera. The brightness of the light is set quite low in order to create a reflection without smothering the other two meshlights right and left that provide most the bulk of the illumination.

ZSboy: Never done studio shooting. Couldn't afford the equipment. Indigo works out a good deal cheaper for me
It's 2 or 3 strobes, I think it was $5-600?
I'm not a huge fan of studio photography, I prefer more photojournalistic, catch-someone, vs. pose them.
I often get my guns and my cameras confused.
One time, tragically, at a wedding...
