lol my very first real Indigo render. Modeled in Blender and rendered in 0.5

Im very impressed. You cant get more realistic than that :D But i might do another render, a longer one with more comps on it on a network to see if i can get rid of this caustic noise...

Image
13h 23m
1959 mut/pix
~ 20k muts/sec

I tried NeatImage but it removed too much detail in the glass reflections\refractions, so i de-noised it by hand in GIMP by applying guaussian blur to the ground, but im bot satisfied so thats why i might rerender later.

C&C welcome :D

no, indigo doesn't support .hdr files directly.

Heya Maluminas,

welcome to the forum! Just do a search for hdr2exr on
the board and you'll find a lil' tool that will convert your .HDR's to .EXR.

This will help you to make progress. ;o)

take care

Hm... ive downloaded HDR2EXR but i cant seem to find out how to use it, you see, im a command prompt illiterate :? (i tried the command prompt since double clicking gave an error :( ).

Is there some kind of EXR database somewhere, it would be so much more simple

Nevermind i found HDRshop lol a lot simpler. I still need to make the scene file work, it always does an error, but ill find out how...

EDIT: it works now. stupid misplaced capital letter  lol

hi,
for hdr to exr open hdr in blender image editor and save as exr(blender2.42) or use photomatrix-freeware

Ok i finally did a rerender :D

It didnt give the effect i wanted, i think i forgot to turn off the physical atmosphere, the image is not as blue as i expected it to be, but i like it alot still :D

Image

Unfortunatly the render was turned off by someone who needed the comp so i dont have the exact stats, the log was mysteriously incomplete :? It rendered for about 40 hours and its probably very near to 5k muts/pix.

Now i think its time for a diamond

Here you go! :P :P :P

I'm waiting for the integration of transparent NK Data,
so real "Diamond Material" can be used :D

Btw:
Very nice Render...
Some DOF would be perhapes intersting for such a Close Up

Ok ill redo it with DOF but do you think its best to focus on the center so the side rings (magenta and green) are crisp or to focus on the back rings (red and yellow)?

BTW, maybe this thread should be moved to "Work In Progress" instead of "FInished Artwork" lol. I thought i was done but it seems not
