Render Engine Comparison - Blender

Comparison of four Render Engines for Blender, rendered with the same HDRI-- (rotation was a little bit tricky)

All Images are rendered approximately 15min on a AMD RX 5700.

I don't find this comparison very convincing. A couple of things stand out:

The floor in the Indigo shot seems particularly glossy, causing more noise. Also, the contrast in the Indigo shot is way higher, meaning the noise looks more prominent.

The ceiling in the Cycles shot looks really weird, like there's some photon mapping or denoising going on.

In the Luxrender shot, everything looks really smudgy and blurry, like it's gone through a cheap denoiser. Has it?

Did you use the same ray depth for all the shots? Did you use pathtracing rendering mode for all of them?

Hi Oscar, you are right. The cycles shot is with denoising.

As to the glossy floor it seems to be my knowlege about the glossy shader of the different render engines.

I made the comparison for my Portfolio here ida-m.com

Ok, so why compare a denoised shot with the others? Also, are you sure the Luxrender shot hasn't been denoised? It looks very blurry.

Furthermore, it says 7 minutes at the bottom of the Pro-render screenshot, though you stated 15 minutes each in the opening post...

Too much filter of the camera is visible in the indigo renderer, knowing this engine I assure you that you can squeeze a more realistic picture out of it. The comparison is not entirely correct, I'm sure that you can squeeze a more realistic picture out of indigo.

You can push it for more realism, but where Indigo lacks is workflow and integration.

Okay, I should have done this in a WIP thread.

For Oscar, a re-rendered the four images with better glossy shader, without tonemap tweaking/denoising and this time on a RX 590 for aproximately 15 min.

Thanks for this post, as to integration the Indigo-exporter- is good but no Realtime Rendering, no nodes and the texture selection is a little bit tricky in 2.82 for my understanding..
Furthermore other exporters feature material conversion from cycles, wich is helpful when you work with much models.
